JOGA: Where Worlds Collide
JOGA emerges from a moment where worlds collide – where haunting melodies meet carnal desires, where baroque elegance dances with electric defiance. Like silk slipping across marble floors, this fragrance creates unexpected harmony from contrast.
The Inspiration: Past Meets Present
JOGA was inspired by the magical moment when two distant worlds meet – creating something entirely new by joining past and present. The vision came from our founder Tanya's inspiration: Sofia Coppola and her remarkable ability to transform mundane scenes into captivating experiences.
In her film "Marie Antoinette," there's a pivotal scene where Marie Antoinette (played by Kirsten Dunst) and her entourage prepare for a masked ball. As they enter the ballroom and begin to dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Hong Kong Garden" starts playing – a striking juxtaposition of 18th-century opulence against the electric energy of punk music. Two completely different worlds blend together in perfect harmony.
This unexpected collision – where powdered wigs and corsets find their rhythm in post-punk's primal energy – captured exactly what we wanted JOGA to embody.
The Composition: Bright Energy Meets Earthy Depth
JOGA's composition mirrors this duality. The fragrance opens with bright, energetic top notes that command attention – an immediate burst that draws you in. But as it wears and warms with your skin, it begins to reveal a softer, spicier side.
This transformation comes from the heart notes of black pepper and upcycled Turmeric leaf. This seemingly mundane element presents remarkable complexity and interest. Sourced and extracted from discarded materials left behind by the food industry, Turmeric leaf provides an earthy, spicy character that gives JOGA its unique olfactive edge.
The contrast between the bright opening and the earthy, spiced heart creates the same fascinating tension as modern music playing in a baroque ballroom – unexpected, but somehow perfectly aligned.
The Experience: Beauty in Contradiction
JOGA is for those who find beauty in contradiction, who understand that the most intriguing stories unfold in the space between tradition and reinvention. It's for the person who appreciates both classical refinement and untamed spirit.
Like Björk's haunting track that shares its name, JOGA occupies the compelling space between conventional and avant-garde – creating something entirely new from familiar elements.
