Ahuehuete Tree (Montezuma Cypress)

Deep in Oaxaca's sacred valley stands El Árbol del Tule—an ahuehuete (Nahuatl for cypress) that has witnessed over two thousand years of history. A natural colossus born from an Aztec priest's planted walking stick. The Zapotec people named it "the tree where life began," its massive trunk now wide enough to embrace 30 people at once. Some say its ancient bark still whispers prophecies to those who listen closely.

DOS MIL AÑOS opens with bright grapefruit interwoven with cypress and cardamom, lifted by the sparkle of Timut pepper – evoking morning mist around the tree's massive trunk. The heart reveals warming spices of nutmeg and clove bud, complemented by roasted hazelnut and sustainable eucalyptus, representing the deep connection between earth and sky. The base pays homage to the Ahuehuete (Montezuma Cypress) itself, supported by earthy vetiver and rich labdanum, capturing the tree's resinous strength.

This olfactory tribute transports wearers to this sacred site, while highlighting lesser-known ingredients significant to Mexican culture. The composition bridges traditional perfumery with indigenous botanical heritage; it’s an invitation to experience the profound connection between nature's wisdom and the human spirit.

      Whether in our formulas, packaging or supply chain practices, we strive to implement a sustainability mindset, evaluating every aspect of the development process to adhere to some of the most stringent criteria that exists within fragrance.

      DESIGN
      Quality over everything. When it came to designing our parfum glass bottle, we spared no expense. 

Cap - Our fragrance cap is made of a natural wood (which means all are unique and have natural finish and color variations), using a patented cork inner system that alleviates the use of any glues or plastic. 100% organic and compostable. 

      Bottle - Glass is 100% recyclable and our glass supplier uses “cullet” (recycled glass) to reduce the use of raw material, conserve energy, limit CO2 emissions and reduce volume of waste.

      Fragrance Pump - There is currently no option of a fully recyclable / sustainable fragrance pump, however we have opted for a push-pump which requires the professional removal of the pump from the glass bottle prior to recycling and disposing of the pump. We plan to launch a recycling program to easily dispose of the push-pump and we are aware of local retailers that offer in-house recycling options as well. While there is an option of a screw-on pump that allows for easier separation, we decided against it as it could potentially separate from the bottle upon transportation, causing leakage of the flammable liquid. A vivid citrus and bittersweet note of Grapefruit brings vibrancy and luminosity while the long lasting resin pine of the Cypress tree is both aromatic and balsamic in its background. At its heart, an unmissable Eucalyptus carries a powerful herbaceous note, upcycled from otherwise discarded materials.
