For the sourcing and production of clary sage extract, our partner site is located in Provence, in the Vaucluse region (France). It is thus directly located in the heart of the second largest producer of aromatic and medicinal plants, close to the Drôme. This agricultural wealth allows us to rely on a sourcing of high quality plants, as close as possible to the collection sites. Our partner works with its own network of producers and farmers of sage in order to secure the supply of the natural resource. The harvesting method is mechanized and the drying of the sage is done directly on the plots.
Determined to make positive changes to the traditional harvesting methods of Laddanum, our partner has worked on improving working conditions over the years, hand-in-hand with a local producer located in the heart of Spain's Huelva province. In 2013 these efforts culminated in the construction of new additions to supplier’ processing facility and the introduction of greener methods for the cistus derivative production, particularly on labdanum gum extracts. On cistus sourcing, we are committed to a responsible sourcing approach with a UEBT* verification done in September 2021 and since then a continuous improvement work with the partner.
